THE LISTENER

THE LISTENER

I heard the world pass me by,
From your lip I saw death,
Vivid tales,
Of voiceless victims,
My ears were merciful,
My eyes gazed with shock,
As you brought to life,
Tears of tatters and tyranny!
I heard it all.

No topic taboo,
I heard the world pass by.
Echos of fear of death,
Hungry wails of weeping kids,
I heard the tent tear,
The whimpers of vexation,
Quenched my thirst for power.
As I heard of its woes,
I felt you deserved better,
I heard it all.

I did hear...
That justice is a fragrance,
Aught to be worn by the court,
But my bees I heard you buzz,
From one to the next,
I heard the gavel strike,
The jury baised to the core,
I heard the lawyer elope,
With all evidence of reason,
Your sigh of disbelief,
Their din of merriment.
I heard it all.

So when you pray,
And always do,
Know all was heard,
All perceived,
As you die off,one by one,
Know atleast one will remain,
He that heard it all,
And is moved Only by vengence!
Moved by what he heard,
As the world passes him by,
The listener heard it all.
