THE APOLOGY
before i will read your eulogy,
allow me this apology
let it as a balm sooth your sore
before Gods breath leave thy lips
hear me once more,
and let your tired yet merciful ear
no sweeter words ever get to hear.
for all the opportunity you missed,
for life is a zero sum game,
i won because you lost.
though it wasn't fair,
that's life for you,
but allow me to weep a tear,
and let us, the hatred tear.
to the unborn that i killed,
before they saw the suns splendor,
snatched their chance,
for destroying their habitat,
to enrich my tattered pocket,
i have but one wish,
that all will be well,
on the past we cease to dwell.
but mostly to my God,
i was made to be non but the best,
yet am anything but my best,
i have passed many chances,
lacked strength in face of temptations,
now i am a Divine shell,
only worth to be shelved,
but i turn to him in my grief,
and hope to turn a new leaf.
I write from my heart, as an amateur poet whose love for math, philosophy and knowledge guides my pen and trickles down to the essence of the poems therein. I love engaging with you: for criticism, please feel free to write your thoughts on the poems or ideas you have or even give suggestions.
